Perform Intermediate Scaffolding - OHSCER220A
Overview
This course covers the functions required to erect intermediate scaffolding to meet the minimum formal training and assessment standards for the purposes of certification through Workplace Health and Safety Queensland.
The scope of intermediate scaffolding includes:
- Tube and coupler scaffolds including tube and coupler covered ways and gantries
- Ropes
- Gin wheels
- Cantilever crane loading platforms
- Cantilever and spurred scaffolds
- Barrow ramps and sloping platforms
- Scaffolding associated with perimeter safety screens and shutters
- Mast climbers
Entry Requirements
Participants must:
- Be at least 18 years of age or older; and
- Hold a current Basic Scaffold Licence; and
- Have at least an intermediate level of numeracy, literacy and communication skills; and
- Have access to a suitable workplace to complete the on-the-job training component.
Delivery
Formal training and theory assessment for this course is delivered over four (4) days using a combination of face-to-face classroom and practical activity sessions, with an optional one (1) day practical training. An additional 40 hours (minimum) of supervised on-the-job training is also required.
Outcomes
It is expected that competent participants should be able to:
- Plan and prepare work
- Erect scaffolding / equipment
- Inspect, repair and alter scaffolding / equipment
- Dismantle scaffolding / equipment
Upon successful completion of all assessments (theory and practical) associated with this course participants will receive a Statement of Attainment in partial completion of 30497QLD Course in Operating Crane, Rigging & Scaffolding Equipment.
