Perform Basic Rigging - OHSCER222A
Overview
This course covers the functions required to undertake intermediate rigging to meet the minimum formal training and assessment standards for the purposes of certification through Workplace Health and Safety Queensland.
The scope of intermediate rigging includes:
- Rigging of cranes, conveyors, dredges and excavators
- Tilt-slab erection
- Demolition rigging
- Dual crane lifts
Entry Requirements
Participants must:
- Be at least 18 years of age or older; and
- Hold a current Dogger and Basic Rigger Licence; and
- Have at least an intermediate level of numeracy, literacy and communication skills; and
- Have access to a suitable workplace to complete the on-the-job training component.
Delivery
Formal training and theory assessment for this course is delivered over four (4) days using a combination of face-to-face classroom and practical activity sessions, with one (1) day optional practical training. An additional 80 hours (minimum) of supervised on-the-job training is also required.
Outcomes
It is expected that competent participants should be able to:
- Plan and prepare work
- Complete rigging work
- Demolish structures and/or plant
Upon successful completion of all assessments (theory and practical) associated with this course participants will receive a Statement of Attainment in partial completion of 30497QLD Course in Operating Crane, Rigging & Scaffolding Equipment.
