Operate a Forklift - OHSCER207A

Overview

This course covers the functions required to prepare and operate a forklift to meet the minimum formal training and assessment standards for the purposes of certification through Workplace Health and Safety Queensland.

Entry Requirements

Participants must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age or older; and
  • Have at least an intermediate level of numeracy, literacy and communication skills; and
  • Have access to a suitable workplace to complete the on-the-job training component.

Delivery

Formal training and theory assessment for this course is delivered over two (2) days using a combination of face-to-face classroom and practical activity sessions. An additional 40 hours (minimum) of supervised on-the-job training is also required.

Outcomes

It is expected that competent participants should be able to:

  • Locate, interpret and apply relevant information, standards and specifications
  • Demonstrate compliance with site safety plans and OH&S legislation / regulations / codes of practice / advisory standards etc as they apply to workplace operations
  • Demonstrate compliance with organisational policies and procedures including quality requirements
  • Demonstrate the safe and effective operational use of tools, plant and equipment
  • Communicate and work effectively and safely with others

Upon successful completion of all assessments (theory and practical) associated with this course participants will receive a Statement of Attainment in partial completion of 30496QLD Course in Operating Load Shifting Equipment.
