FAQ’s

How do I apply for a occupational (high risk work or earthmoving and particular crane) licence

  • Please feel free to contact our Prosafe’s Training Co-ordinator on 0407591765, or Email info@prosafe.org.au who can advise you regarding the relevant training for you to obtain experience in the chosen prescribed occupation of your choice.
  • A plan of how your training will be delivered will need to be developed by your employer or Prosafe can deliver the training. You will need to receive your formal training first (this will include theory and a demonstration of the safe use or operation of the plant) and then practice what you have learnt from the formal training through workplace experience. There is a need to have a record of the progress of your formal training and then your workplace experience. Any licenced work you do leading up to your formal training must be supervised by a person with the relevant licence for the work.
  • The assessment has 2-3 parts, which can be delivered progressively. Prosafe can undertake the written assessment after the formal training has been received (this is our preference as it gives everyone confidence that the trainee is on the right track) and the practical assessment is then undertaken after the workplace experience.
  • You will be required to provide evidence of your identity (usually a driver's licence) to your Assessor.
  • Once you have satisfactorily completed your assessment with Prosafe they will give you a Statement of Attainment for the Unit of Competency you have completed as well as a copy of your Assessment Summary.
  • We will act with integrity - constantly striving to uphold the highest professional standards.

If you are seeking a licence for a high risk work class you will need to make an application in person to a participating Australia Post Office.

If you are seeking a licence in an earthmoving and particular crane class then the RTO will process your application for you and you will pay your application fee to them.

You need to make application within 60 days of receiving your Statement of Attainment otherwise your competency will not be recognised.
